Welcome, everyone!

I suppose this very first entry should be used to introduce myself, shouldn’t it?

Well, my name is Michelle A. McLean, and, as the front page of the site states, you can describe me as a Jill-of-all-trades, whether career-wise or personally.

Because I couldn’t settle on just one absolute career path, I’ve built a creative skill set that packs a potent punch. I admit that I am not a master of any of these skills (though I can confidently say that English and copywriting would be near mastery level), but I do have a firm grasp of each.

So what skills have I developed?

  • Design
  • Marketing
  • SEO
  • Copywriting
  • Grant Writing (at an introductory level, anyway)
  • Editing
  • Content Creation
  • Analysis
  • Research
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Social Media Tools (Hootsuite, Meetedgar, etc.)
  • Administrative Tasks

…and more!

I’ve even been studying Python, JavaScript, and PHP in order to add new abilities to my repertoire. I hope to expand from these languages into others within the next six months to a year.

To put it simply, I can easily pick up another skill. But what about personal hobbies?

I have plenty. When I am not working on improving my skills, I focus on other activities, including but not limited to: cooking, baking, painting, drawing, fiction writing, playing piano, hiking, working out, and video games.

Just over these past few weeks, I’ve taken up baking several different types of bread (this week: Asiago cheese).

In regards to painting, I’ve come to improve with each and every canvas.

I’ve even began a new acrylic project underneath my “elemental study.” So far, I’ve created pieces on ice and fire. Now it’s earth. The focal point of the earth study? A cliff rich with flora.

In reference to programming, I’ve recently learned, with the aid of a close buddy, of the programming tool known as pseudo-code. It was certainly surprising to find out that I approached coding from the oh-so-wrong angle.

Other tasks I’ve accomplished over the past couple of months?

I’ve:

  • brushed up on HTML 5
  • am 90 percent complete on my CSS course
  • began the editing process of a friend’s novel
  • continued my job as lead writer for Gamerz Unite and freelance writer (alongside taking on the role of completing various higher-level administrative tasks) for Authority Web, LLC
  • polished my site, www.mmclean-media.com
  • worked out every day – via walks or VR games
  • completed several goals in my favorite MMORPG of all time, Final Fantasy XIV

So, to say the least, I like to keep myself busy. And thus ends the small introduction of myself. To say, “Hey world, I’d like to get to know you. Let’s chat about all the cool hobbies in the world!”

Let’s get to know one another. Feel free to introduce yourself in the comments. I’d like to know what you’re interested in, what keeps you energetic every morning.
